Loading... Please wait...Air Locker Solenoid and Connector Socket with LED indictor
These solenoids can be used with air lockers (and other air actualted devices). They are not identical to those supplied by other manufacturers (Ashcroft, ARB etc.) but are functionally similar. They may not be a direct replacment depending upon how the solenoid is to be mounted. We have heard that the solenoid can often be directly substituted, but cannot guarantee that.
These are an industrial, high quality, 12V solenoid valve with several benefits over other types. These may be stacked (using a suitable sealant or o-ring, neither is supplied, between valve bodies). Stacking can simplify installation as no 'manifold' is required, as needed by other types.
The air inlet (from compressed air or CO2 source) is via the port(s) on the large face of the device, and the port on the opposite face can either be blanked off with the threaded plug supplied, or stacked to the next device.
The air outlet (to the controlled device) is on the smallest face (the same face as the electrical connection when the solenoid and valve body are assembled).
Two threaded holes are provided on the blank face (opposite the black solenoid coil), and are tapped M4x0.7
Two holes are provided on diagonal corners of the air inlet face. These can be used for stacking and/or mounting, and are clear drilled 3.3mm clearance, with a step to allow recessing of screws/nuts.
Special Feature - Electrical Connection Option:
Unlike other solenoids, these can either be used with standard 1/4" spade terminals (the male is on the solenoid, requiring a female connector on the conning wire) or with the supplied illuminated connector socket.
If using the supplied connector socket, you will gain the added benefit of having a small red LED in the connector housing to tell you when power is applied to the solenoid. This greatly aids fault finding, especially when out on the trail or overlanding, as you know instantly whether the solenoid has power and don't have to mess around with multi-meters or test lamps.
Connections to the socket are via screw terminals (1="+", 2="-"). Pin 3 is not necessary. The cable entry is via a screw-type gland with 6mm uncompressed hole diameter, giving a degree of water ingress protection. Note: the connections are not "waterproof", and should only be considered splash proof without addition of silicon or other waterproofing material.
If using spade terminals, pin 1 should be "+", pin 2 should be "-". The third pin is a ground, but is not usually necessary in this application.
