This bolt is sometimes needed in four positions when installing a later "thick flange" final drive assembly (differential, or third member) into an axle casing where a "thin flange" was previously fitted. Typically on D1, RRC Defender, and some series models.
This bolt is 1/2" longer than the shorter version, but is only needed in the 2:30, 3:30, 8:30, and 9:30 clock positions, thus comes as a kit of four (4). Since few older vehicles are 'stock' it is normally impossible to know which years and models will need these changed.
If you wish to change all of the bolts/studs, you will need three (3) packs.

I was transferring my ARB locker to a new axle housing when I realized my new housing is thicker. Apparently the rover axle diffs come in different thicknesses. I needed these studs to replace four shorter ones in the housing. Simply tapped them in with a hammer and my diff was back together. Thanks Roverware!
